Pete

Hello, My name is Pete. Welcome to www.beatbutch.com, the official web site to make Butch a one term Governor. If you think Butch is doing a solid job and deserves another 4 years in office, then this is the wrong page for you. I have decided to run the world's first cyber campaign. Other experts talk about the high-tech campaign that my buddy Barack ran. I feel it was more a 1963 campaign with a few high-tech bells and whistles. Let me show you how my media expenditures will compare with my buddy, Barack's.

Media Obama Pete
Broadcast Media $ 244,600,266 $ 0
Print Media $ 20,462,672 $ 51.88
Media Consultants $ 2,739,204 $ 0
Totals $ 267,802,142 $ 51.88

Help me take down Butch. I've spent almost $16,000 of my own money, and I would like a little financial help. You can donate cash: $5, $10, $15 or even $20 at The Sunflower Florist, or you can make a donation on line from $10 to a maximum of $49.99.

$5.00 $10.00 $20.00 $30.00 $40.00 $49.99

I have run this campaign on a shoestring and once I have $100,000 I will stop collecting money.

Signatures, Signatures, Signatures

I need one thousand signatures to get on the ballot. I would like some signatures from all 44 counties. Even 5 or 6 signatures a day helps me out. The more signatures I have, the stronger my campaign becomes.

Signs, Signs, Signs

Great job with the signs folks! There were "PETE" signs from Boise to Bangkok. I now need 3 things from you:

  1. Take down (and save) my signs. Click here to print a "PETE" yard sign and make copies at your local copy store. Of course you can always make your own "PETE" sign instead.
  2. Signatures from all 44 counties to get me on the ballot. Click here to print a copy of the form to get Pete on the primary ballot. Instructions included.
  3. Buy (and wear) a "BEAT BUTCH" T-Shirt.

I decided to run against my Old Buddy Butch for Governor of Idaho on January 27, 2009. I do not have the slightest interest in becoming Idaho's next Governor. I just want someone other than Butch. By jumping into the fray early it is my hope that some other candidates will join in. I will run a cyber campaign. Since this is 2009, and not 1963, there will be no expensive TV, Radio, or Newspaper Ads. No glossy flyers, mass mailings, or phone banks. The total projected cost for this campaign (for both the primary & the general election) is 100,000 Bucks American. This depends on the cost of tech services and on how many volunteers I can corral.

I am tired of the gridlock of Butch's time in office. He can't seem to get anything done, even with the huge Republican majority in the Idaho Legislature. More than anything else, I am tired of Butch's incredible arrogance. It is time to show Butch the door. The best time is:

Tuesday May 25, 2010

The Idaho Republican Primary.

Your politics don't matter to me. You can be a "Ron Paul" Republican or an "Obama" Democrat, a Tea Party Guy (or Gal), belong to the far right or the far left or anywhere in between. You can listen to Rush or Amy Goodman. I don’t care. "The enemy of my enemy is my friend." Suddenly I seem to have a great many friends.

Another Campaign Office

My main physical campaign headquarters are in Boise, Idaho USA:

The Hollywood Market

"First a Mayor,

Then a Governor"

I am usually at campaign headquarters from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. on weekday mornings. I can even give you one of my campaign cards. Feel free to stop by and say hello. You may also find me at:

Right now I need 3 things from you:

  1. Help out Margaret --buy something (even a pack of gum) from the Hollywood Market.
  2. Help out my friend Mohammad and purchase something from his beautiful flower shop, The Sunflower Florist.
  3. Signatures from voters from all 44 counties in Idaho to get on the ballot for Governor. Pick up signature kits at the Sunflower Florist on Chinden Blvd.

Finally, (aside from giving Butch the Bum's Rush) I have 3 goals for my campaign:

1) Have the most fun I can have.

2) Shatter the record for voter turnout (the previous high was 80.46% in the general election of 1992.). My goal is 95% on the Tuesday, May 25, 2010 Primary. To do this there will need to be 30 to 40 Republican candidates and at least a couple dozen candidates on the Democratic side. This Election will be just like Woodstock, without the Music, Sex, or Drugs.

3) Make Idaho a cornerstone of the movement to "Free Tibet". Anyone who is crazy enough to take on a BEAST like the Idaho Republican Party is too stupid to be afraid of 1,181,213,002 Chinese Communists.

You may have noticed that becoming Governor is not one of my goals. It looks like a really crummy job to me.

And Finally,

One hundred years from now only one person in a thousand will remember the name of the Governor we elected in 2010 and his portrait will be a faded picture in the Statehouse.

One hundred years from now everyone will remember May 25, 2010 as the day the Power and Beauty of American Democracy was demonstrated once again.

Best wishes,

Pete's Signature
